Our accredited Level 2 First Aid & Basic Life Support course gives learners the practical skills and confidence to respond effectively in an emergency. Covering adult, child, and infant CPR, along with safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), this training ensures participants are prepared to take immediate, life-saving action in critical situations.

Delivered face-to-face by highly experienced trainers, the course combines clear instruction with hands-on practice, helping learners build confidence to stay calm and act decisively under pressure. The training is designed to be accessible to all, whether you are an employee, volunteer, parent, or carer, and provides reassurance that you can step in and help when it matters most.

By the end of the course, participants will have the essential first aid knowledge and the confidence to provide life support until professional medical help arrives.

Course summary

This course covers the following:

• Knowing what action should be taken in the event of an emergency occurring at work
• Learn and practice of cardiopulmonary resuscitation methods
• Has been taught and practised dealing with an unconscious casualty
• Has been taught and practised with regard to correct AED use
• Knowing the correct actions to take regarding control of wounds and bleeding
• Knowing the action to take on a range of other first aid situations
• Knowing how first aid stocks should be maintained and the contents of boxes

Course Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to:

• List Actions to be taken in the event of an emergency occurring at work
• Use cardiopulmonary resuscitation methods, including use of an AED
• Provide first aid to an unconscious casualty
• Provide first aid to a choking casualty
• Describe the correct actions to control of wounds and bleeding
• Train others in emergency first aid basic life support requirements within their healthcare working environment
• Lead a practical based group training session on basic life support
