Level 2 Paediatric & Emergency First Aid at Work

Course programme

This interactive one-day course is delivered using small group scenarios, in a friendly environment.

Upon completion and successful assessment, you will be certified as a P&EFAW first aider at work (3 years). This course is for people who have a specific responsibility at work to maintain adequate first aid provision for both employees of paediatrics in their care.

Course summary

This course covers the following:

• Knowing what action should be taken in the event of an emergency occurring at work
• Has been taught and practised the scene survey
• Learn and practice of cardiopulmonary resuscitation methods
• Has been taught and practised dealing with an unconscious casualty
• Has been taught and practised with regard to correct AED use
• Has been taught and practised dealing with a choking casualty
• Knowing the actions to take in a range of other first aid situations
• Knowing how first aid stocks should be maintained and the contents of boxes

Other first aid situations include: Seizures, Respiratory conditions, Heart conditions, Bleeding, Shock, Stroke, Wounds & dressings, Burns, Anaphylaxis, Amputation, Bites, Bones, Diabetes, Eye injury, Penetrating injury, Splinters, Spinal injury & Stings

Course Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to:

• List Actions to be taken in the event of an emergency occurring at work
• Use cardiopulmonary resuscitation methods, including use of an AED
• Provide first aid to an unconscious casualty
• Provide first aid to a choking casualty
• Describe the correct actions to take in a range of other first aid situations
